We rested feet in the river

Not because we were weary,

But because we liked 

How it felt;

Over time 

The river took my saltskin

Piece by piece

Eroded and broken away

So when you wished to walk

I had to remain

Hoping one day 

My feet might reform

And I can walk with you again.
